The Sound of Silence

Reported on Channelonline is an assault in Hope Street.

The officer in charge of the investigation is quoted. ‘This is one of a number of potentially serious assaults that have happened in the last few weeks. However, we would like to reassure Islanders that these are all one-off incidents which are being resolved, and in most cases, lines of enquiry have led to arrests and in some cases, charges made or files submitted for consideration about possible charges.’

Strange how the Constable of the Parish can be so vocal about the renaming of a street or promote the town park in times of recession but seems to have little to say about the violence in his Parish or to reassure the Parishioners and visitors to his Parish, be they local or tourists.
