No confidence

We shall see what becomes of the no confidence motion in the Council of Ministers and also the Censure motion on the Chief Minister.

If there is a significant number of abstentions then one can see that those who abstain will not be worth voting for in the next election. The same goes for any supporters.

The current Jersey government is without mandate.

Independence & Time Zone

So where is the electoral mandate to be discussing or proposing independence -

And where is the mandate to discuss changing time zones -

don't recall them being in any manifestos last time around.

A hustings poser

A question of choice

Although it is a long way off yet - here's a question for all the candidates - be they new or sitting -

who will you vote for as chief minister ?

It could be quite telling!

Vote them Out in the elections - 1

We see from the JEP Senator Ozouf is to use £100K for a PR exercise to repair the damage done by the child abuse scandal. Well here is some news for the family minded member of the States - YOU CAN'T UNDO THE DAMAGE THAT HAS BEEN DONE.

Also this is the person who thinks we should outsource functions to India. So what about hope for the existing children and teenagers of the Island that might want to get a job in Jersey. What hope for them?

Let's all thank Senator Ozouf - he is the first "Vote him Out" candidate (assuming he stands) on this blog. Hopefully he will be voted out at the next election - and will NOT return as a deputy.

First Post

Hello,

Well, this is the first post intended to focus on the upcoming elections in Jersey, Channel Islands.

Hopefully it will be constructive thought, focussing on policies, and also upon wider things affecting Jersey - with support, where appropriate for other bloggers on local issues, and probably a little disagreement.
